For the milestones, the celebrations, and the dinners that warrant somewhere of their own. Two floors, two private settings — up to 26 covers downstairs, 16 upstairs — and a kitchen that writes the menu around the occasion. No room-hire charge; a £20 per person deposit holds the booking.
The menu for your event is written by Head Chef Han Wang the morning of, drawn from what landed at Brixham overnight. The dining room sits a flight of stairs above Fore Street, looking out onto the Exe at high tide. The team that looks after your guests is the same team that has held Michelin recognition here every year since 2021 — now the Plaque, plus the AA 1 Rosette this year.
It's the kind of evening that doesn't feel like a venue hire. It feels like a restaurant that has paused for one table.
An intimate dozen upstairs, or a longer table for sixteen below — with room for twenty-six on the lower floor when it's set as separate tables.
Sixteen sit around one table — the window table extended into a T — for a single seated party. Set as separate tables, the same room takes up to twenty-six (the format we used for the fish-and-chip evening). The pass stays open; the room feels like the restaurant on a good night, paused for one party.
A private floor above the kitchen, looking out onto the Exe. Twelve sit around one table for an intimate evening; for sixteen we set the floor as two tables of eight (a step between the front and back of the room means we can't put a single long table the full length). Ideal for a milestone birthday, a small rehearsal dinner, or a long lunch with the river outside the window.

Every private event gets a custom menu. These are the three formats we end up with most often — a starting point for the conversation.
Three courses, two options at each course, chosen in advance. The most straightforward format, built around what's landing at Brixham in the week of your event.
Wine from £28 per bottle · pairings from £45 per head
Six or eight courses, designed with Han around the occasion. A conversation in advance, and a menu that is unambiguously yours for the evening. Most recently run at £80 per head; pricing scales with format and produce.
Wine pairings on request · one-off tasting evenings hosted at New Year's and Valentine's
Han writes the menu around the occasion, the season, and any dietary needs. We also host one-off tasting evenings at New Year's and Valentine's — ask if you'd like dates.
A private events manager looks after the timing, the speeches, the small details. Front-of-house run by the senior team only.
By the bottle, by the glass, or pairings designed alongside the menu. Bring your own wine permitted by arrangement (corkage from £25).
No fixed run-of-show. Take an hour over the canapes, linger over coffee, leave when you're ready.
Optional canapes and an aperitif before sitting down — we'll suggest pairings and quantities for your guest count.
Printed menus and place cards in the house typeface, included. Personalised seating plans on request.
We'll come back to you within one working day with availability, a suggested format, and a draft menu to start the conversation. If you'd rather speak to us first, the restaurant is on 01392 876078 and our private events manager picks up from 10am Tuesday to Saturday.
For corporate events, we can invoice rather than take card payment, and we're happy to accommodate non-drinkers, dietary requirements, and a specific run-of-show if you have one.
For weddings and milestones, we recommend getting in touch at least three months out. Weekends book earliest.
